Italians awarded the Moldovan wine "Firebird Legend Merlot 2004" ('DK-Intertrade')

The 14th International tasting contest took place during the International Exhibition "VININTALY 2006" where the Grand Jury represented by the 90 oenologists from different countries gave the Gran Menzione award to the DK Intertrade company Firebird Legend Merlot 2004" wine.

This contest is #1 in the world of wine competitions. 3500 samples from 31 countries of the world participated in 2006.

"Union Internationale des Oenologues", "Оffice Internationale De la Vigne et du Vin", Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, Ministry of Industry are among the organizers of this event. The number of wines represented by each company-participant is limited to 5 samples in one category. The wines are divided into 2 basic categories: the origin and the geography of origin. In accord with the "Union Internationale des Oenologues" rules the Gran Menzione award is given to the wine which obtained more the 80 (out of 100) points. 14 different international wine tasting awards were won by the DK Intertrade company wines since 2006.

Bucharest 2006 gave 2 medals to DK-Intertrade


Merlot Aurvin Rezerva of 2004 year received the highest award - the gold medal at the 3rd International wine tasting contest which took place in Bucharest, April 2006. Cabernet Sauvignon Firebird Legend of 2003 received the silver medal.

356 samples of wines from 10 countries of the world were presented. The competition was held in the frames of exhibition "Bucharest Wine Salon 2006" with the initiative of National Patronage of Grapes and Wine (P.N.V.V.) and with the support of the Association of Romanian Tasters (A.D.A.R.).

The DK-Intertrade, the part of alcoholic holding 'Dionis Club', is a main producer and exporter of Moldovan wines since 1994. Nowadays, the wines of the company’s trademarks 'Dionis Club', 'Aurvin', 'Firebird' are getting more and more fans all over the world. The sales geography of the "DK-Intertrade" company is one of the widest among the Moldovan wine producers; it has reached the number of 14.

Firebird Legend Chardonnay 2003 is included to the list of best "Chardonnay of the World 2006".



The 13th Internatioanl tasting contest took part in Chateau des Ravaty (Institute of Paster, Burgundy) during March 9 – March 12. It brought a new award for the "DK-Intertrade" company. The Firebird Legend Chardonnay 2003 took the bronze medal. 936 samples of wine from 36 countries were presented; 60 gold, 185 silver and 63 bronze medals were awarded. The purpose of this event is to select the best wines made from Chardonnay grape in the world. The Moldavian wine Firebird Legend Chardonnay 2003 was competing with the best known world brands. The results indicate the variety and power of Chardonnay wine styles made all over the world. It is also interesting to mention that some wines presented were made in Japan.

The 2nd year in a row the Chardonnay wine from "DK-Intertrade" company is selected by the grand jury of "Chardonnay de Monde". Also, the Chardonnay Dionis Collection 2004 was awarded with the silver medal at one of the most famous France international contest "Les Vinalies Internationales 2006". It will be included to the list of "1000 best wines of the world" ("1000 Vins du Monde"). The wines of "Firebird Legend" trademark were exported to Great Britain, Czech Republic, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam.

Firebird Legend Chardonnay 2003
This wine is from the southern region of Moldova – Vulcanesti. The hand made process was using during the harvest. The long-lasting cryomaceration at low temperatures with the fermentation ("battonage" process) gives the light plum taste with the nuts and citrus tunes to the wine. Fresh and delicately light aroma of green apple and citrus concludes with the mild plum aftertaste with the tints of hazelnut.

The Moldavian wine "Dionis Collection Chardonnay 2004" is included to the list of "1000 wines of the world".



The results of one of the most famous international contest "Les Vinalies Internationales 2006" (Paris, France) were announced on March 2, 2006. The Moldavian wine "Dionis Collection Chardonnay 2004" of "DK Intertrade" company was awarded with the silver medal representing again the high level of its wines.



The silver and gold medalists of this contest will be included to the list "1000 wines of the world" ("1000 Vins du Monde"), which is presently the guide for many wine traders around the world. The contest "Vinalies Internationales 2006" is taking part annually under the supervision of the "International Union of Oenologists" and "International Vine and Wine Organization" with all the strict rules and principles of closed (blind) tasting.



It is good to mention, that "DK Intertrade" wines took over 50 different medals and diplomas on the international tasting contests during the last 18 months. Such a great award on the world international level indicates the assurance of the high quality of Moldavian wines and the growth of "DK Intertrade" company itself.







"Dionis Collection Chardonnay 2004": wine has straw golden color with the brightness. The bouquet is clean with the developed tunes of ripe apples and tropic fruits, with the nuances of flowers. The palate is light and oily with the easy tunes of peach . It is long and pleasant in the aftertaste.

The 2nd edition of the National wine tasting contest "100&1 Best wines of Moldova" took place at the end of December 2005 under the supervision of ‘Moldova Vin’ department.

400 samples of wines were represented; 222 of them passed the qualification round; 34 were competing for the Grand Prix award. It is good to mention, 3 of these samples are made by ‘DK-Intertrade’ company.

The catalogue "100&1 Best wines of Moldova" is the most complete wine edition in Moldova. It is promoting local wines abroad and representing the best samples of Moldovan wineries.

The ‘Dionis Club’ and ‘Firebird’ TM wine were awarded at the ‘Great International Wine Award MUNDUSvini 2005’ competition in Germany.

The ‘Dionis Collection Chardonnay 2003’ and ‘Firebird Legend Merlot Rose 2004’ wines made by ‘DK-Intertrade’ company got the ‘Approved’ award at the tasting contest ‘Great International Wine Award MUNDUSvini 2005’, Germany.

4376 samples of wines from 31 countries all over the world were tested by international jury between August 26 and September 4. As the result, 1448 samples of wines from 26 countries were awarded.

The 5th international tasting competition MUNDUSvini is the biggest event on ‘blind’ tasting with OIV rules. The ‘DK-Intertrade’ company wines are taking part in this competition at the first time.

It is important to notice this ‘Approved’ award is given for wines which took more than 80 points out of 100. The MUNDUSvini awards are recognized as the official evaluation of wine quality by the European Union.

Moldavian wines were judged by English experts.

Six ‘Firebird Legend’ TM wines were awarded at the prestigious international tasting competition "Decanter World Wine Award 2005" in Great Britain. This contest is organized by the professional wine magazine ‘Decanter’ every year.

It is important to notice that ‘Firebird Legend’ TM wines are the first and the only ones of Moldavian wines awarded at the high-status tasting event ‘Decanter World Wine Award'.

5500 samples of wines from all over the world participated at this competition. The main idea of this contest is to represent the variety of wines for consumers, distinguishing the common style of the specific region and the influence of microzone for the wine. The ‘Decanter World Wine Award 2005’ is famous because the experts are judging all the components of the wine product: quality, quality/price ratio and design. Undoubtedly, it helps consumers to make the right decision based on the professional opinion of expert.

It took 3 phases for the tasting competition itself. The 1st phase selected the leaders of each region separately. The 2nd judged the gold medalists. The winners take the prize. And finally, on the 3rd phase the best wine among the region leaders take the ‘International Trophy’ prize. The given awards are helping the basic purpose of magazine – to give the practical advices for wine consumers.

The ‘Firebird Legend’ TM wines are shipped to the United Kingdom since September 2004. They are represented in 123 supermarkets of ‘Waitrose’ network with the price of £4.99 per bottle. Although, the restaurants and bars of central London sell them for £17 per bottle, which is much higher than all common wines from Eastern Europe, particularly Romanian and Bulgarian selling in UK.

The annual North-Caspian regional exhibition ‘Atyrau Food 2005’ took place in Atyrau, Kazakhstan between September 15 and 17. The professional tasting contest of alcoholic drinks was in the frame of this event.

The ‘Dionis Collection Sauvignon 2003’ wine took the Gold medal at this competition, declared again the high status of ‘DK-Intertrade’ company as the high quality wine producer.

It is significant that ‘Dionis Collection’ range wines took 11 awards at the international competitions in 2005: ‘Chardonnay du Monde 2005’ (France), "Expo Vin Moldova 2005" (Moldova), "100&1 Best wines of Moldova. 2005", "Prodexpo 2005" (Russia).

The 'DK-Intertrade' company presented 'DIONIS CLUB' trademark high quality wines on the conference organized by 'TUROB' Turkey Hotels Association and Turkey Net Hypermarkets representatives. This meeting is the biggest for the representatives of the 'HoReCa' operators in Turkey.

Approximately 200 persons were invited, among them were:

Council of Russia in Turkey, Ambassador of Moldova in Turkey, Governor and Major of Istanbul, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Turkey Hotels Association ('TUROB'), owners and top managers of the best hotels and restaurants in Turkey, regional distributors (Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara), administration of the main operators (GIMA, TANSAS, METRO), news agencies representatives.

The goals achieved after this event and following international negotiations are: enlargement of the customer base and enforcement of the wine operator distribution positions on the Turkish market, appearance of the new customers for the 'DIONIS CLUB' products, building the image for the company on the VIP level, publications in press and TV reports.

The 'Chardonnay du Monde 2005' wine contest took place in France, Chateau des Ravatys, Saint-Lager, region of Burgundy between 10th and 13th March of 2005. This competition is the biggest and the most famous in the world of 'Chardonnay' wines. The results of the 12th edition of 'Chardonnay du Monde 2005' were published on March 14, 2005.

Our wine 'Dionis Collection Сhardonnay 2003' was included in the list of World Chardonnay 2005 following this event. And we are proud to say that "DK-Intertrade" company took the silver medal with the "Dionis Collection Сhardonnay" 2003 wine.

Among the participants were 1090 wines from 37 countries all over the world. The tasting contest was organized in accordance with OIV (International Wine Office, San – Francisco 1993) international rules. The jury was made from 40% France representatives and 60% worldwide wine professionals.

The 14th International Wine and Alcoholic Drinks Contest took place in the frame of the 14th international specialized exhibition 'Expo Vin Moldova 2005' which took place in Chisinau, Moldova between 22 and 25 February 2005.

The grand prix winner is our 'Dionis Collection Chardonnay 2003'. The following wines of our company took 4 gold and 2 silver medals:

The 100&1 best wines of Moldova were selected by the wine experts during the tasting contest which was organized by the Department 'MoldovaVin' in December 2004. The 'Grand Prix' highest award was taken by our wine 'Sauvignon Blanc' 2004. Besides this, 6 other wines of the company were included in this list:

The catalog '100&1 best wines of Moldova' is the first and the only one edition of the best Moldovan wine samples. This catalog will be published before the annual international exhibition 'Expo Vin Moldova 2005' in February 2005.
